- Q. Is the PVR-9200T a twin
tuner PVR?
Yes the PVR-9200T does have 2 Digital tuners.
- Q. Do I need two aerial
connections?
Only one aerial is required. The signal is sent to
the 2 tuners internally.
- Q. Can I record from an
external source e.g. VCR, Satellite or Cable?
No, it is not possible to record from an external
source. Only recordings of Freeview channels can be
made.
- Q. Can I receive analogue
TV with the PVR-9200T
It is not possible to receive Analogue TV on the
PVR-9200T; however you can connect a RF (coaxial)
cable from the PVR to your TV and still access
analogue channels on your analogue TV set. Please
also be aware that the analogue channels (BBC1,
BBC2, ITV, CHANNEL4, & FIVE are also available on
Freeview)
- Q. Can I use the PVR9200T
with an IDTV?
Yes, you can connect the PVR-9200T in the same manor
as an Analogue TV to receive the digital channels on
both the PVR and the IDTV.
- Q. How many hours can I
record?
You can record between 80 ? 100 hours depending on
the quality of the broadcast you are recording.
- Q. Is the PVR-9200T HD
(High Definition) Ready?
No, the PVR-9200T is a SD receiver (Standard
Definition); there are no High Definition receivers
available for Freeview.
- Q. Can I edit the
recordings I make on the PVR e.g. remove adverts?
Yes, it is possible to copy, cut and split
recordings you have made.
- Q. Can I receive more than
7 Days EPG?
Currently Freeview are only providing a 7 day EPG.
- Q. Can I control my TV
with the PVR-9200T remote control?
No, the PVR-9200T remote control does not have the
function to control the TV.
- Q. Does the PVR-9200T keep
all of its settings when powered off from the mains
or the rear ON/OFF switch?
Yes, all settings will be retained when the PVR is
power off, but no recordings will take place.
- Q. Does the PVR record
when it is in Standby mode?
Yes your scheduled recordings will take place from
Standby. You can also switch the PVR to Standby when
a recording is taking place and it will continue to
the set end time.

- Q. How many scart
connections are available?
The PVR has 2 scart connections:
TV Scart supports RGB, CVBS, and S-Video
VCR Scart supports CVBS and S-Video

Q. Can I connect to a TV
without a scart connection?
Yes this is possible. You can connect a RF (coaxial)
cable from the PVR to your TV and then receive the
Digital channels.
You will be required to tune your television to
detect the PVR; the default UHF channel used is 36.
Please review your TV user manual for instructions
on how to tune your television.

Recording
- Q. Can I still watch
programmes on my normal TV whilst the PVR-9200T is
recording?
Yes, you can connect a RF (coaxial) cable from the
PVR to your TV. You can then view the channels on
your TV as normal.
- Q. Can I record 2 channels
at the same time?
Yes the PVR-9200T will allow you to record 2
channels at the same time.
- Q. What can I do while
recording 2 channels
While recording 2 channels you can view a recording
from the HDD and also view a 3rd channel however
this is limited to the Multiplexes (Mux) you are
recording from. You can also watch a previously
recorded programme from the hard disk drive while
recording 2 channels.

- Q. What happens if I set a
recording and the programme starts early or late?
To allow for programmes running late you can extend
the start and end times of all of your schedules
automatically. In the Record menu you will see
options for Early Start Time and Late End Time, if
you select the require minutes the PVR-9200T will
add them to the schedule

- Q. Can I record and
playback subtitles?
The PVR will automatically record subtitles whether
you have switched them on or not before the
recording has started. When you playback any
recording the subtitles can be switched on.
- Q. How will I know what
each recording on the HDD is?
Recordings made through the Electronic Programme
Guide (EPG) will be labelled with the programme
name. Recordings made when no programme name is
available can be named manually. The recordings are
displayed in order and each one is numbered in
ascending order.
- Q. Can I transfer
recordings from the PVR to a VCR or DVD recorder?
It is possible to connect a VCR or DVD recorder to
the PVR-9200T and record the Recorded Programmes
from the PVR to the DVD. If you are connecting via a
scart cable then you will need to select the channel
on the DVD recorder that records from the scart
connection, while playing back the recording on the
PVR press Record on the DVD or VCR. The VCR Scart on
the PVR-9200T will can be used to output the
recordings to another recording device.
- Q. Can I set the PVR to
record programmes that are not displayed in the EPG
e.g. 3 weeks ahead?
Yes, you can set up timer recording by manually
inputting the channel, date, start time and end time
of the recording you want to make.
- Q. Can I set the PVR-9200T
to record a programme every day or every week?
Yes, there is the option to repeat recordings at the
same time each day (Daily) or each week (WEEKLY).
After you have setup your Schedule press the YELLOW
button on the remote while in the Guide, highlight
the Schedule and press OK, then change the REPEAT
MODE)
- Q. Can I record Radio
programmes as well as TV programmes?
Yes, it is possible to record both TV and Radio
programmes together.

Playback
- Q. Can I view a recording
from the beginning while it is still recording
(Chase Play)?
Yes, when a recording is in progress it will appear
in your playlist with a REC icon beside it, you can
play this from the beginning while it continues to
record.

- Q. Can I playback
recording from the point I was last watching it?
Yes the PVR-9200T will automatically play back the
recording from the point it was last viewed.
- Q. Can I quickly get back
to the beginning of a recording?
If you press the PLAY button twice you will go back
to the start of the recording
- Q. The entire programme
was not recorded, how can I make sure I do not miss
the end in future.

- Q. I am not receiving all
of the Digital channels available
The Digital channels are sent from a transmitter in
6 different groups (called Multiplexes). Depending
on your location and your existing aerial you may be
able to receive some of the channels but not all.
You may need to contact your retailer or local
aerial installer to have your aerial repositioned or
upgraded.
- Q. Not all of my channels
are working however I do have channels numbered on
the 800 range that are working correctly?
You may be in an area where there are 2 different
digital transmitters. To find out how to search for
the digital channels manual please contact our
Customer Helpline
(uksupport@humax-digital.co.uk), we will
require your full postcode to send the instructions.
- Q. How can I check my
Signal Levels?
You can check your signal levels in Menu ? System ?
Signal Detection
- Q. How do I know the
Digital Transmitter that I am receiving channels
from?
The transmitter name will appear in the Signal
Detection menu or you can search your coverage area
at
http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/coverage.html.
- Q. Why are some of the
channels working and on other channels I get picture
and/or sound problems?
The Digital channels are sent from a transmitter in

MP3 files from my PC to the PVR?
Yes, you can transfer MP3 files to the PVR and play
them through your TV set. You can play the MP3 files
in Menu - Record - MP3.

- Q. Can I transfer photos
(JPEG files) to the PVR?
Yes, you can transfer MP3 files to the PVR and play
them through your TV set. You can play the MP3 files
in Menu - Record - MP3.

- Q. How much space is
available to download MP3 or JPEG files?
There is a 5 GB limit to the amount of MP3 and JPG
files that you can download.
- Q. Can I extend the space
for MP3 or Picture files?
It is not possible to extend the amount of space.
- Q. Can I transfer other
music files to the PVR?
No, only MP3 files can be downloaded
- Q. Can I transfer
recordings from the PVR to my PC?
Yes, you can transfer recordings you have made on
the PVR to your PC.

- Q. Can I connect my PVR to
an external USB HDD to transfer recordings?
No, it is only possible to connect to a PC.
- Q. What Operating Systems
does Media E-Linker work with?
Windows Operating systems are only supported at the
current time.

Software Update
- Q. What are software
updates?
Software updates are free downloads to resolve known
issues or make improvements/enhancements to current
models.
- Q. How do I get software
updates?
Software updates are released on our HCSA website
www.humaxdigital.com/hcsa.
To access this site you need to register and create
your own User ID and password, then you will be able
to access the Download Section to see if new
software is available?
We also release the software updates periodically as
OAD (Over Air Downloads). To see if a download is
available for your model n the next 2 weeks please
visit
http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/download_schedule.pl.
To receive the Software updates automatically when
they are released you will need to leave your
product in Standby mode each night so that it can
check for new updates.
- Q. How do I know what
changes have been made to the software?
If you register and log into the HCSA site (www.humaxdigital.com/hcsa)
you will be able to see each new software version
and the Release Notes; giving information on the
fixes/improvements that have been made.
- Q. Do I need to install
every software update?
No it is not necessary to download every update, if
you download the latest version you will have all
the changes included in previous versions.

Troubleshooting
- Q. How can I receive new
channels?
To receive new channels please perform an Automatic
search in the Installation menu and they will be
added to the channel list, please refer to the
Installation section of your manual. If channels
change position you will need to carry out a Default
Setting in the Installation menu :
1. Press MENU
2. Select Installation and press
OK
3. Enter your password (Default = 0000)
4. Select Default Setting and press
OK
5. Select YES and press OK
6. Enter your password (Default = 0000)
Note: The receiver will then
restart and search for the channels again.
Important: When you carry out a
Default setting no information on your HDD
(recordings) will be removed. You will need to setup
any schedules and any Favourites list you have
created.
- Q. There is picture but no
sound on my PVR.
Make sure the volume on the PVR and TV is up. Check
that the PVR and the TV are not set to Mute. Make
sure that the Scart cable to the TV set is connected
to the "TV" scart connection on the back of the PVR.
- Q. My remote control does
not have all of the functions that are displayed in
the User Manual.
The PVR remote has a slide down section on the
bottom third of the remote where additional buttons
are available.
- Q. Where is the USB
connection on my PVR to connect to my PC?
The right section of the front display has a door
that will drop down where the USB connection is.
- Q. When I try to edit a
recording I am unable to use the 6 function buttons
on the bottom left of the screen.
To use these buttons press the PAUSE button on the
remote control, then use the arrows to navigate to
the function buttons.
- Q. I am trying to download
the software via my PC but it will not start.
When you receive the message ˇ°Waiting for Humax
connectionˇą on your PC, make sure that the cables
from the PC to the PVR are connected, and then power
the PVR on from the rear ON/OFF switch.
- Q. I get a message "E-OS"
(or E-05) on the front display every morning.
This message will appear when the PVR has tried to
download the software automatically but the download
has been corrupt or failed. To resolve the issue see
the instructions on how to carry out a Default
Setting. When the update is released again the PVR
will update automatically.
- Q. The Installation menu
is greyed out when I access the menu.
It is not possible to access the Installation menu
when you are playing back a recording or when a
recording is in progress. You will need to stop the
playback/recording to access the menu.
- Q. When I switch my PVR on
I receive the E-AC error message.
This error is caused by corrupt Application
software; see the Software Download section for more
information.
- Q. When I access the menu
I no longer have a record icon in the menu, instead
the menu options start with Preferences and Games
appear at the bottom?
When the recording icon does not appear in the menu
then the HDD has not initialised on start-up. Power
off the PVR from the rear ON/OFF switch for 2
minutes and then power on again. If the record
option is still no longer available please contact
the Customer Helpline.
- Q. How do I change
channels on the PVR?
There are several ways to change channels, see the
Channel Change instructions for more information:
1. Enter the channel number using the numeric keypad
on the remote control
2. Using the CH+ and CH- buttons on the remote
3. Press the OK or LIST button on the remote to
display the channel list, use the UP or DOWN arrows
to navigate through the list, press OK to change to
the channel you require
- Q. The Time on my PVR is
not correct.
Go to MENU? PREFERENCES? TIME SETTINGS menu and
change the GMT OFFSET in 1 hour intervals until the
correct time is displayed. If the time is only
several minutes incorrect then this may be an issue
from the transmitter as the time is detected from
the Digital Signal.
- Q. When my PVR is
connected I am not able to receive any/all of the
analogue channels on my TV.
Check that you have a RF (coaxial) cable connected
from the TV/VCR output on the PVR to the aerial
input of your TV set. If you not receiving all of
the analogue channels then access the MENU?
PREFERENCES? UHF TUNING menu and change the UHF
Channel setting to a different number than 36 as
this number (or a number close to 36) may be used
for the analogue channel.
- Q. My EPG takes a long
time to load each time I switch the PVR on.
The PVR does not store the EPG information in
standby or powered off, instead it refreshes the
information each time you switch on. The time take
to populate all of the information may depend on the
channel you are tuned to, it is recommended to go to
BBC 1 where the information will be downloaded
quicker.
- Q. I receive the message
"Antenna Power has short-circuited".
To resolve this problem please access MENU?
INSTALLATION (enter your password as 0000 if you
have not changed it), then switch the Antenna Power
option to OFF, finally Exit the menu and the message
will no long be displayed.
- Q. How to I receive new
channels?
There are 2 ways to receive new channels:
i. Carry out an Automatic Search (instructions)
ii. Carry out a Default Setting (instructions)
- Q. I have received
Analogue channels on my exiting TV without problems
but I am not receiving any/all of the Digital
channels?
The Analogue and Digital channels will not be sent
in the same manor and at times will be sent from
different transmitters. You cannot compare the
Analogue channels signal/quality to the Digital
channels. Please check that you are in a Freeview
coverage area (www.dtg.org.uk
or
www.freeview.co.uk).
You may be required to have your exiting aerial
upgraded to receive digital channels.
- Q. When I press the TEXT
or RED button the digital Telextext/Interactive menu
does not appear?
Follow the steps below:
i. Check if the facility is working on a different
channel and then try the channel you wish to use
ii. Press GUIE or MENU and then EXIT and then after
10 seconds try to function again
iii. Power off the PVR for 30 seconds and then
restart it and try the facility again
- Q. I am unable to access
the EPG when I am playing back a recording
The EPG is not available when playing a recording,
stop the recording and go to a live TV channel where
you will be able to access the EPG
- Q. I am unable to use PiP
(Picture in Picture) when recording or playing back
a recording?
The PiP facility is not available when recording or
playing back a recording.
- Q. When I try to playback
a recording I am unable to see it on the full
screen, instead it only plays back in the small
thumbnail at the top of the screen.
When you access the Recorded Programmes menu and
press play on the recording you wish to view, press
the EXIT button on the remote control to see the
recording on the full screen.
