Gets better as the price drops

- Written by Joe S. on 07/07/2010

Its almost perfect, and gets better as the price drops. Its network capabilities work great with my Mac computers, USB works well too for video and images. Too bad the USB is on the back and hard to get to. Support for external HD is great. Signal is strong and it was great for the World Cup. Im waiting for updates to the software to improve it even more.

If only it recorded TV

- Written by ST on 20/05/2010

Lovely product, although I assumed it would record TV as well. The instruction manual makes a reference to recording feature to be launched later but I cant find any info as to when that will be.

I am not a techo, but I bought this product and found it very good.Picture quality was great,Remote controller was fast and easy to use esp the on screen menus. The only things I can fault at the moment is,no hard drive recorder and usb limited esp its on the back.

Beware no 5.1 sound!

- Written by DMH on 13/03/2010

HD picture quality is as good if not better than Freesat, but there is Dolby 5.1 sound on Freesat which IS NOT the case with Freeview, or at least not on any of the programs or test transmissions that I have watched during the past 3 days from the Winter Hill transmitter.

HD service not available

- Written by Robertm on 23/02/2010

HD lover where are you located?I agree the kit is fine however I cannot pick up any HD channels in Central London apparently the service is not available yet.

HumaxDirect comments..
Have a look here to see when HD will be available for you: http://stage.freeview.co.uk/availability/main/indexhd/

However if you are in London you should be able to pick it up off the Crystal Palace transmitter without issue as it's broadcasting from there already.
